Our Review of the HandySitt

When it comes to spending time with your child, we all know that flexibility is a must. The HandySitt Portable Wooden Booster Chair is made to work with you, not against you. The HandySitt is an ingenious booster chair that uses adult dining chairs to bring your child to the table.

This portable booster is a convenient alternative to a dirty restaurant high chair or booster seat. The genius of the HandySitt's design is that it goes beyond a simple dinner high chair and works as a second seat anywhere . . . from the play room to the patio, even on the floor.

For your child's comfort, the HandySitt beats hook-on chairs hands down. Not only is it more compact, your son or daughters' little legs won't dangle because the chair it rests on serves as a footrest. No more tingling toes from their feet falling asleep, making long meals easier to handle.

Since it only weighs 5 lbs. total and folds down flat to 21" x 3" x 12", you can store it easily in the trunk or even back seat of your car and take it to restaurants, a friend's or babysitter's houses, or anywhere you can imagine needing a extra seat for the little ones. It is recommended for use with children between seven months and 4 ½ years within the average height and weight range for those ages.

The HandySitt will fit:

  • Chair between 12"and 17 ¾" high
  • Square back chairs with a minimum width of 1"
  • Round back chairs with a minimum width of 1.25"
    • Even if the Handysitt doesn't fit perfectly on the chairs where you dine, the HandySitt Standalone accessory gives it legs, allowing the HandySitt booster to 'stand alone' on any surface.

The HandySitt will fit with most hard seated or cushioned chairs that would normally come with a table set or any chair that you'd find at a restaurant. This portable high chair has a three-point safety harness and tether strap for security. There's no assembly required, so you can take it out of the box and use it immediately. An easy to install cushion is sold separately for extra padding, as well as a handy travel carrier. Cleaning is as easy as it gets: take a wet towel and wipe clean.

HandySitt also backs up their solid construction with a three-year warranty.

Great for the family

Reviewer: Nick , Boston, MA Date: August 06, 2008
Our 14 month old twins absolutely love these. We live in the city where living space is always an issue and we could not afford to have huge bulky high chairs taking up space - Handysitts saved the day. Our kids are great at restaurants I think it has a lot to do with having them sit with the family early on. I have two small issues with the seats: 1. although my kids can not escape, a shoulder strap would be nice. 2. a big bulky highchair has a tray that has a lip around the edge, this helps keep food up off the floor. With the Handysitt, there is not tray, just the table, and kids are free to swipe food right off onto the floor. (But other parents tell me this happens with the tray also!) Also, the travel bags are not necessary, we spent $80 on them and never use them. I highly recommend this product.

Both our kids are great eaters and we put it down to the handysitt. Since they could both sit up by themselves we have had them up at the table sitting in their handysitts. I get lots of comments when we are out, and usually its our kids who are the best behaved sitting up at the table with the adults!

We bought 2 of these seats for our twins who are 14 months. We love the chairs-however, one of the babies can somehow wiggle out of the buckle. I wish they would make an optional shoulder strap.

I agree with other reviewers that the HandySitt chair is useful, portable, well made and worth the money. My son loves it. However, my one complaint is that I wished it fit slightly taller chairs. Pay attention to the height guidelines.

We have this one out in our dining room, as it works perfect on our dining room chairs. My daughter loves it. Straps on stable, she sits right at the table like all of us in the same dining room chair. Also love the way it travels easy. Pretty classy style. The big buckle seat belt is big and easy enough for her to buckle in herself proudly.

This chair is awesome. My kids were fighting over who got to sit in it so I finally had to buy another one. They are so comfortable and actually sit in it and can't escape from it like they can other boosters. It looks great in our home too. We take them with us to restaurants and they are a breeze to set up. I can't say enough great things about these chairs.
